In 1946, Michelin transformed the tire industry with the invention of the radial tire. Originally developed for cars, this groundbreaking design offered enhanced durability, stability, and safety. Four decades later, in 1987, Michelin made history again by introducing the world’s first radial tires for motorcycles, the A59X and M59X, bringing the same revolutionary benefits for riders. RUBBER & COMPOUND TECHNOLOGIES
MICHELIN 2CT Technology combines two types of rubber on the tread: a harder compound in the centre designed to maximize longevity, and a softer compound on the shoulders to enhance grip while cornering. This design ensures the ideal balance between performance and durability.
MICHELIN 2CT+ Technology is an evolution of MICHELIN 2CT. It extends the harder centre compound underneath the softer shoulder compound to increase rigidity and enhance cornering stability.
MICHELIN Silica Technology is a rubber compound that incorporates silica to improve grip on wet roads while maintaining tire longevity. It also helps reduce fuel consumption on tires designed for commuting.
MICHELIN Carbon Black Technology uses a rubber compound infused with carbon black to optimise dry grip and tire longevity during sporty riding.
TREAD PATTERN & SIDEWALL TECHNOLOGIES
MICHELIN Water Sipe Technology uses patented sipes that extend all the way to the bottom of the tread pattern to break through the water film on the road surface. This enhances wet grip and ensures better contact with the road, even in rainy conditions.
MICHELIN Water Evergrip Technology features patented sipes that widen as the tire wears, increasing water evacuation capacity. This ensures excellent wet grip throughout the tire’s lifespan.
MICHELIN Adaptive Design is an advanced tread design developed for Off-Road tires, engineered to optimise performance based on terrain type. The distribution, shape, and depth of the knobs and sipes are specifically designed to deliver maximum grip and optimal traction, while ensuring precise and controlled cornering behaviour.
MICHELIN Premium Touch Design is a patented dark, velvet-like texture. This innovation adds a touch of elegance and sophistication, enhancing the vehicle’s design with a premium visual effect.
INTERNAL COMPONENTS
MICHELIN Bib Mousse™ Foam Technology replaces the inner tube with a high-density foam, eliminating any risk of punctures. Designed for Off-Road use, it ensures consistent pressure, optimal grip, and total peace of mind—even in the most demanding conditions.
MICHELIN Butyl Technology is a sealing solution that uses butyl rubber, known for its excellent impermeability. It helps maintain air pressure over time, reducing the need for frequent reinflation and ensuring more consistent tire performance.
