Pilot Sport 4 S TIRE REVIEW

I replaced the original Bridgestone Potenza S001 XL 245/40R20 rear tyres because they had only 6.1mm of total tread when new and were worn to the wear bars at 14,400 miles in 5 years. The Michelins are at least as good for road holding in wet and dry but have slightly more tread and hopefully will last longer as they are not cheap. This single tyre purchase was to replace a punctured tyre at 16,700 miles after 18 months since fitting. The tread centre when new was 8mm tread and after 2300 miles had worn to 7mm, so similar wear rate to the Bridgstones.

Back to the same tyre and spec that the car originally came with from the factory. I did have the Porsche N0 variant (without the acoustic foam inside) on the front left (which replaced a damaged tyre after an incident) but that one wore out faster than the original T0 (Tesla) variant on the front right.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Tyre Performance Review I’ve been really impressed with these tyres across a range of driving conditions. They perform confidently in both wet and dry weather, offering excellent grip on dry roads and reassuring stability in the rain. Even in heavier downpours, they maintain traction well and inspire confidence. Braking, cornering, and steering response are strong. Braking feels controlled and responsive, with no slipping or hesitation, and cornering is secure even at higher speeds. Steering response is precise, giving a good sense of control and feedback through the wheel. In terms of ride comfort and noise, these tyres deliver a smooth, comfortable drive. Road noise is minimal, even on rougher surfaces or motorway speeds, making longer journeys much more pleasant. So far, the tyre lifespan and durability seem excellent. Wear has been even, and they still look in great condition after regular use, suggesting they’re built to last. I’ve also noticed a positive impact on fuel consumption. Rolling resistance feels low, and fuel efficiency appears slightly improved compared to my previous tyres. Overall, these tyres offer a great balance of performance, comfort, and durability. I’d highly recommend them to anyone looking for reliable, high-quality tyres for everyday driving.

Wet and dry performance is great. Liable to fill with snow in cold conditions and so become very slippery on ice.
